What do we do?


 The Literacy Council offers FREE English tutoring sessions (1.5
hours / twice a week) that match students’ schedule.
We offer small classes
with no more than 6 students per volunteer-tutor. We also provide conversation
and citizenship classes. 
 
   How do you begin?

 1) Call the Literacy Council to make an
appointment for registration and to complete an assessment to determine your English level.
 2) Be available 2 days per week for 1.5 hours tutoring session each day (A total of 3 hours per week).
 3) We match students with tutors depending on the
availability of volunteers. We will notify you.

The mission of the Literacy Council of Chelan and Douglas Counties is to actively promote literacy awareness in our community and provide direct tutoring instruction in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and life skills to motivated adult learners in Chelan and Douglas Counties.
